 Slawomir and Sandra
Kielian realized that their Des Plaines condo had become too small
for their needs. "We wanted more room -- and the advantages
of new construction," Sandra said. So they began their search
for a new town house last summer.
They looked around for several months, and then Sandra spotted an
ad for Buckingham Pointe, a town-house development in Des Plaines.
They visited the site, and realized they had found a winner.

"There was a lot that we liked immediately about Buckingham
Pointe," Sandra said. "The size of the floor plans was
a major consideration for us. We wanted to find a 3-bedroom home
              with at least 2 baths."

The Dearborn-Buckingham Group, the developer, plans 44 units. Prices
start at $387,900. Sizes range from 1,800 to 1,900 square feet.
Units have 2 or 3 bedrooms, 2oe baths and 2-car attached garages.
Amenities include central air conditioning and master-bedroom suites
with walk-in closets and private baths.

The Kielians selected a 1,900-square-foot plan, configured as an
end unit. The couple will be moving in this June.

The design has 3 bedrooms, or a loft is optional instead of the
third bedroom. The plan is anchored by a two-story living room.

"Once we toured the Buckingham Pointe neighborhood, we felt
its location and layout were very convenient for our needs,"
she said. "Slawomir and I visited a few of Dearborn-Buckingham
Group's previous developments. We saw one of their town-home communities
in Des Plaines, and some of their custom homes in Glenview. We both
liked the exterior look of the homes. We knew we would be getting
              a good value."

Sandra and Slawomir are having their basement roughed-in for an
extra bath. They are planning on finishing off this space to create
              a home theater.

"The 1900 plan will give us so much more room than we have
now, with enough space to have both our families visit for the holidays,"
              Sandra said.

Her kitchen will feature a center island and a corner pantry. "I'm
looking forward to cooking in our new kitchen," she said.

In their breakfast area, sliding glass doors provide access to a
concrete patio. The Kielians selected a fireplace for the family
              room.
