listening to what buyers want
As a homebuilder
with custom home experience, the Dearborn-Buckingham Group knows
what it takes to please homebuyers.
The company has
two new townhouse communities in the Chicago area, Buckingham Pointe
in Des Plaines and Buckingham Orchard in Lombard. Both communities
offer homes with standard included features that set them apart
from the crowd.
Buckingham Pointe
is located in northwest suburban Des Plaines, on Touhy Avenue, between
Mannheim and River roads. Planned for 44 premium-quality townhouses,
prices at this community begin in the mid $380,000s.
Buckingham Orchard
is located in west suburban Lombard, near Old Route 53 and North
Avenue, with 22 townhouses starting in the $340,000s.
"Townhouses
are popular in today's home buying market and as a luxury builder,
we take the time to make sure our townhouses are representative
of the luxury name tag," says Christopher Coleman, president
of the Dearborn-Buckingham Group. "At both our Buckingham Pointe
and Buckingham Orchard communities, the level of included features
in each home has been noticed."
Townhouse floor
plans at both communities are similar in style, with a pair of two-story
designs that are sized in the 1,700 to 1,900 square foot range,
with standard and end-unit configurations being offered.
Each floor plan
features two or three bedrooms 2.5 baths, a basement and two-car
attached garage. Each home features and owner's suite, with a double-door
entry, walk in closet and private bath with separate soaking tub
and shower. At Buckingham Orchard, approximately 70-percent of the
homes also have standard lookout or daylight basements.
He luxury appointments
list begins with the exterior styling of each group of townhouses,
with architectural details that include brick trim on the first
floor, gabled rooflines, decorative columns and shutters plus keystones
over the window openings.
Inside, the first-floor
rooms have 9-foot ceilings (with volume ceilings in select rooms),
ceramic tile or oak floors in foyers, Colonist six-panel doors and
trim with premium hardware, decorator-selected wall-to-wall carpet
and designer light fixtures. Architectural niches are also featured
in select floor plans.
The kitchens highlight
custom wood cabinets with pantries and workspace. The appliance
package includes a microwave, a self-cleaning range, dishwasher
and stainless steel sink with single-lever faucet and disposer.
The baths include
custom wood vanities, full width vanity mirrors and brand name plumbing
fixture. Each master bath indulges with a dual-bowl cultured marble
sink, walk-in shower and separate soaking tub. Pedestal sinks are
found in the first-floor powder rooms.
Each Dearborn-Buckingham
Group townhouse also comes standard with central air-conditioning,
50-gallon water heater, efficient gas heat, whole-house insulation,
insulated steel garage and front entry doors, insulated windows,
plus aluminum gutters, downspouts, soffit and fascia.
Buckingham Pointe
is located in Des Plaines on Touhy Avenue, near Mannheim and River
Roads, at the corner of Dale Street and Touhy Avenue. The community
is open from noon to 5 p.m. Friday to Tuesday, closed Wednesday

Buckingham Orchard
is located in Lombard, near Old Route 53 and North Avenue.
The sales center
is located in the Dearborn-Buckingham Group's recently sold out
Buckingham Meadows neighborhood. To visit, take I-355 to North Avenue
east to Old Route 53 south approximately one-half mile to Meadow
Lane. Turn west to Churchill Court and south to the sales center.
The sales center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Friday to Tuesday;
closed Wednesday and Thursday.
